Proposition 37, Mandatory Labeling of GMO Food

by Mark Lovett on October 10, 2012

We all know that there are three main things required for life – Air, Water and Food. And we also know that when any of these three elements become contaminated or negatively altered, the health of the entire population is degraded in some fashion.

From a food perspective, that’s why the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act was passed in 1965, requiring all consumer products in interstate commerce to be honestly and informatively labeled.  And it’s why California is now voting on Proposition 37, which requires the Mandatory Labeling of Genetically Engineered Food.

You might think that it’s logical to properly label food so that everyone knows what they’re putting into their body, but some very powerful corporations are spending a lot of money – millions of dollars to be precise – to prevent this from happening.

Thankfully the folks at Food & Water Watch put together this clip that highlights the true essence of the issue now before us – which is about giving us the right to know what goes into our bodies – allowing each of us to make decisions about our health.

For those of you in California, this is an epic opportunity to change America!
